Pray for the Film Industry
The world has changed so much over the last few weeks. One moment we were celebrating the release of I STILL BELIEVE, a film brimming with hope, and the next we were grieving with the faith film industry as we saw theatres across Canada close in response to the global crisis. We still believe God is moving in Hollywood - we’ve experienced it in unprecedented ways. We still believe God will honour those in the film industry who have honoured Him. We still believe this film, and future faith films are a remarkable tool to encourage hope and faith! Would you join us in praying for those in the film industry; those involved in making I STILL BELIEVE, the actors, all the production and distribution teams, all the theatres and their employees and all the people involved in promoting this film? And for those who were in the midst of making their films which have now been put on hold or have been moved to next year. Here are some points to help you pray:
Pray for the faith film industry - this financial blow could be devastating. Pray that they’d be able to create films, and demonstrate faith to the people around them in unprecedented ways through this crisis.
Pray for the theatres and their employees - we’ve learned that many don’t qualify for EI, because of the part-time nature of their work. Please pray for provision, and that those who have sat in on some of our film screenings would be reminded of the hope found in Jesus.
Pray for those who are in limbo in their film productions - that their financial backers would have stability, and that those who had committed to participate in upcoming films would find miraculous ways to still stay involved.
I STILL BELIEVE
We believe that good storytelling, through film, demonstrating the power and hope of faith in Jesus, is an important part of God’s work in our world. Jesus was the greatest storyteller of all! Years ago we made it our mission to make sure Canadians were able to see their beliefs and values on the big screen to be affirmed, equipped and inspired in their walk with God. We’ve worked hard to help Hollywood see that Faith Films have a place in Canada. It’s part of using the tools in our hands to communicate the hope of the Gospel! And, if you need a bit of hope right now, the good news is, the producers moved quickly and I STILL BELIEVE is available to stream on demand. For a limited time only, watch it on Apple TV, iTunes, Google Play, Cineplex, and more. We hope you choose to watch it in your home over the weekend and continue to take heart that God is faithful. (You might even save money on making your own popcorn!) We might not fully understand what is going on but know God will remain our refuge and our strength in times of trouble.
